Let's do the time warp again!

Per la serie "ma trovati una ragazza", stavo leggendo un articolo su dei nuovi sviluppi teorici riguardo le macchine del tempo. Un po' la solita fuffa, ma è interessatissima questa affermazione:
“The machine is spacetime itself,” he explains. “Today, if we were to create a time machine – an area with a warp like this in space that would enable time lines to close on themselves – it might enable future generations to return to visit our time. We, apparently, cannot return to previous ages because our predecessors did not create this infrastructure for us.”
E' interessante perché smonta una delle congetture più classiche contro i viaggi nel tempo, ovvero, se fosse possibile tornare indietro nel tempo, perché non si è ancora presentato nessuno dicendo "ciao, vengo dal futuro"?
